The complete harmony of melody and lyrics has made Büne Huber one of the most successful songwriters in Switzerland. What many know in the meantime: This fusion is created while painting. The frontman of Patent Ochsner often hears initial song ideas and melody fragments in his studio, sounding text modules, so to speak, and then stands in front of the easel. Pictures and collages, short stories, vignettes, letters and artistic postcards provide touching, funny and sometimes disturbing insights into his work.
Some of Büne Huber's works will be on display at the Museum of Natural History Bern from 30 July to 27 August 2023. A kind of picture diary of an artist's soul that is difficult to tame. Many of Patent Ochsner's songs have long since become folk songs. Those who have them in their ears will recognise the history of the songs through the pictures.
Admission to the exhibition is free for concertgoers.
Büne Huber's art exhibition will be shown from 30 July to 27 August in the former rooms of the special exhibition «Weltuntergang» on the 3rd floor. According to the plan, these rooms were empty during the summer months and now offer the ideal backdrop for Büne Huber's work exhibition as an interim use.
Regular museum opening hours:
Monday: 2-5 p.m.
Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 9-17 hrs
Wednesday: 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
Saturday, Sunday: 10-17 h
On concert days, the museum remains open until 7.30 pm.
Public appearances by Patent Ochsner are extremely rare this year. One exception will be seven open-air concerts in early August 2023 at the Schwellenmätteli on the Aare in Bern. The musical concept of the shows is based on Büne Huber's picture exhibition in the Natural History Museum in Bern and is a further development of Patent Ochsner's successful unplugged concerts.
