Topic overview
January 26, 2022: Animals of the last ice age
During the ice ages and in between, our animal world looked very different than it does today. We'll travel back more than 10,000 years and find ourselves in the midst of mammoths, cave bears, woolly rhinos, cave lions, wild horses, giant deer, musk oxen and many more. So please dress warmly!
February 23, 2022: Arachnids
Arachnids, which include scorpions, are super diverse in their lifestyles, colors, and shapes, enticing us to learn much more about them - until we become expert arachnologists! Many new discoveries are guaranteed.
March 16, 2022: Domestic animals and their wild ancestors
Today we'll explore how our dogs, cats, cows, horses, sheep, goats, geese, and chickens evolved from their ancestral forms. How, what, and why did they change to look the way they do today?
April 20. 2022: Excursion to the spring forest.
There is singing, drumming, breeding, hunting and feeding all around. We observe on the way in the forest with eyes, ears, nose and brain, supported by binoculars, magnifying glasses and identification books.
May 18, 2022: With and against each other in the animal kingdom
Many living things benefit from each other, even if they belong to different species. This is called symbiosis. If the advantage in living together is very one-sided or even harmful for one of the species, it is parasitism. In between there are still many exciting intermediate forms, of which you have surely never heard - until today!
15. June 2022: Cryptozoology and mythical creatures
Is the Yeti, Bigfoot, Nessi or surviving dinosaurs perhaps hidden somewhere after all? And where have the unicorns, sea monsters, dragons and werewolves gone? An exciting search with an uncertain outcome...
